Main duties, tasks & skills required

Provision of dental care to those groups specified in the service description, both as regular patients of the Special Care Dentistry Service and for those accessing Specialist Occasional Care Services.

Dental care will include a full range of dental treatment including treatment under sedation and General Anaesthesia and Domiciliary Care as required. Treatment and care will be within the competencies of a Band B dentist as defined in the National Terms and Conditions of Service.

Person specification



Current full registration as Dental Surgeon with General Dental Council

Foundation (Vocational) Training / equivalence and current Performers List number

BDS (or equivalent)


Postgraduate qualification in Special Care Dentistry, Paediatric Dentistry or Conscious Sedation



Experience of organising, managing and running clinics and support staff

Evidence of commitment to continuous professional development and currency within GDC requirements

Experience of dental software (R4 or similar)

Disclosure and Barring Service Check
